Rapa Nui Maoi Concept Art
/Today I painted more maoi. I love these big heads. They’ll play an important role in my third Jimmy Jay adventure. The double-wide picture shows my view in Clip Studio Paint. In my second book I didn’t consider how pictures would look when the reader has the book open. I know it’s an obvious consideration, but I had become accustomed to looking at each picture individually rather than viewing each picture as part of a bigger whole. Using a two-page spread is a good way to keep colors consistent for adjoining images and keep text boxes and balloons harmoniously arranged.
