Al Fresco Art Club Challenge, April 19, 2020 -- Make a Paper Cutout Butterfly and Draw it in Perspective
/Today’s Al Fresco Art club challenge was to use a 2d image as a model for 3D perspective. I found an image of a Monarch Butterfly online and printed it out, attached a paperclip to the body, and used it to visualize what the wings of a butterfly, complex curves, look like from several angles. I’ve been trying to visualize butterfly wings for the last week and I need a real reference.
The image is printed on one side of the paper, with the other side being white. The next time I make a model like this, I’ll print a second copy in reverse and paste the two images together so that both sides have detail.
