Covid-19 Scare

Today we had a Covid-19 scare. My wife woke up this morning with a raging headache and a runny nose. When she called her doctor to make an appointment, the receptionist said, “Sounds like you have covid. You’ll have to schedule a zoom conference with the doctor. How about 3 pm?”

We put on masks and distanced ourselves. That felt weird. We sanitized the house, doorknobs, refrigerator handles, table tops, etc. We normally work side by side, shoulder to shoulder in our office/studio, so I moved into the next room and worked on my thumbnail sketches with pencil and paper. All I could think of was that 3 pm appointment.

The doctor called, listened to my wife’s symptoms, and said, “You don’t have covid. You don’t even need to be tested, unless that would make you feel better.” What a relief! All was well again.

Happy, happy! Joy! Joy!
