I declared today to be an unofficial session of the Al Fresco Art Club. I was the only member present, so I spent some time doodling and fiddling with Krita. My greatest achievement? I gave Nacho the Pug a much-needed bath.
Another busy day at work. The submissions I appraising are keeping my nose to the grindstone. My art for today is my morning doodle. I’ve been playing with good old pencil and paper. I’m loving my blending stub. The expression on this guy’s face captures my present mood.
Today I spent my time with my family. They come first, always. I tried to work on my children’s picture book, but I was unable to focus my thoughts on my work. On the Art front, I doodled.
My part-time job starts March 22 and goes for eight weeks…maybe. “Maybe” because the company I’m working for, which has thousands of real live customers every day, may close down if the Plague strikes the city where I’ll be working.
I made a big mistake today. That translates to, I switched from Photoshop to the desktop version of Affinity Photo to color today’s image. The result was that I wasted today’s painting time. My first error was to forget that I need to practice using the Wacom tablet to get my touch back. My second error was to naively assume that Affinity Photo was a drop-in replacement for Photoshop. It’s not. It’s as different from Photoshop as French is different from ancient Latin. I see now that the only reason to switch to Affinity Photo is to avoid paying for Photoshop every month. I’d rather pay $50 a month than use Affinity Photo.
